MPO & MTP High-Density Fiber Solutions for Scalable Data-Centre & Telecom Networks

MTP®/MPO Fiber Cabling Solutions: High-Density & Low Loss

Engineered for Zero-Error Migration: US Conec MTP® & Corning® Fiber

Don’t risk your data center uptime with generic MPO connectors. ABPTEL exclusively utilizes Genuine US Conec MTP® PRO connectors and Corning® ClearCurve® OM4/OS2 fiber.

Our “Elite Grade” trunks achieve an industry-leading 0.35dB Insertion Loss, ensuring you have enough optical budget for 100G SR4 and 400G SR8 hyperscale deployments.

Comprehensive data center connectivity setup featuring OM4 fiber cables and QSFP transceivers for high-bandwidth network performance

QSFP to QSFP Direct Link

Scenario: Connecting two 40G/100G transceivers directly (e.g., Switch to Server). Selection: Female to Female, Type B (Crossover) Polarity. 💡 Engineer's Tip: Never connect Male to Male! Transceivers always have Male pins, so your cable MUST be Female.

ABPTEL MTP-12 OM4 Magenta Jumper Female to Female UPC 5m Type A

MTP Cassette & Trunk

Scenario: Connecting two MTP Cassettes via a Trunk cable in racks. Selection: Female to Female (if cassettes are Male), Type A (Straight) or Type B (depends on design). 💡 Engineer's Tip: For Backbone trunks, Type A is standard, but you'll need an A-to-B patch cord at one end to flip polarity.

ABPTEL OS2 Singlemode MTP-MPO-LC Cassette, 24 LC Duplex, LGX Method A (1)

40G/100G to 10G/25G

Scenario: Splitting one QSFP port into 4x SFP+ ports (Top of Rack). Selection: MTP (Female) to 4x LC Duplex, Type B Polarity. 💡 Engineer's Tip: Check your transceiver type (SR4 vs PLR4) to ensure the fiber count matches (8 fibers vs 12 fibers).

Why Our MTP Cables Don’t Fail?

  • 3D Interferometer Test: We test 100% of connectors for Radius of Curvature, Fiber Height, and Apex Offset. If the geometry isn’t perfect, physical contact fails.
  • US Conec MTP® Connectors: Unlike generic MPO connectors, genuine MTP® features a floating ferrule and elliptical guide pins to prevent fiber damage over 1000+ matings.
  • OFNP (Plenum) Jackets: All our US-bound cables use fire-retardant NFPA 262 plenum jackets for data center code compliance.

MPO / MTP Assemblies

Abptel, your trusted manufacturer in Shenzhen, delivers pre-terminated MPO® and US Conec MTP® cable systems that accelerate 40 G/100 G/400 G roll-outs while safeguarding tomorrow’s 800 G upgrades. Every trunk and harness is built under ISO 9001 and tested to IEC 61754-7 interface & IEC 61300-3-30 end-face geometry standards.
MTP® Elite ferrules guarantee ≤0.35 dB insertion loss and ≥55 dB return loss for single-mode optics.

MPO/MTP cabling consolidates 8 – 144 fibers in a single push-pull interface, slashing rack congestion and installation time versus traditional LC or SC termination. Typical use-cases:

* Spine-leaf fabrics in hyperscale data-centres

* 5G C-RAN & fronthaul backhaul links

* Disaster-recovery interconnects between Tier-2 DCs

* High-performance computing (HPC) & AI clusters

MPO/MTP Fiber Optic Cable Manufacturing Process Overview

Fiber Performance

ModeElite IL (dB)Std IL (dB)RL (dB)Bandwidth / Reach
OS2≤ 0.35≤ 0.75≥ 55 (APC)400 G DR4 – 10 km
OM5≤ 0.35≤ 0.60≥ 25100 G-SR4 / 400 G SR8 – up to 150 m

Explanation

Low IL preserves link budgets for PAM4 optics.
High RL minimises reflectance-sensitive DR4 / FR4 transceivers.
Wide Bandwidth on OM5 enables SWDM for 100 G over a single duplex.

MPO/MTP Quality Control & Testing

MPO/MTP cables with testing and inspection equipment.

100% 3D Pass

Every connector is tested for Radius of Curvature, Fiber Height, and Apex Offset. Why? To guarantee physical contact on all 12/16/24 fibers simultaneously.

400x Cleanliness

Automated inspection ensures Zero Scratches/Pits on the fiber core. A single dust particle can burn out a 400G port. We clean it so you don’t have to.

IL/RL Testing

We guarantee Return Loss (RL) > 60dB (for APC) to prevent signal reflection, which is critical for high-speed PAM4 modulation networks.

Why Choose MPO/MTP?

Plug-and-Play Modularity

  • Factory-terminated trunks cut cabinet build time by up to **70 %** versus field termination.

Density Without Compromise

  • Up to 3,456 fibers per 1U using 16F MTP® Pro cassettes – perfect for AI & HPC clusters.

Smooth Migration to 400G / 800G

  • Simply swap transceivers; existing  8F → 16F trunks support parallel optic upgrades

Q1: What is the difference between MTP® and MPO?

MPO is the generic interface standard. MTP® is a high-performance MPO connector manufactured by US Conec. It has superior mechanical design (floating ferrule, removable housing) that ensures lower insertion loss and better durability. All ABPTEL Elite cables use MTP® connectors.

It depends on what you are plugging into.

  • Plug into Transceiver (Optical Module): Use Female (Unpinned).

  • Plug into Patch Panel / Cassette: Usually Male (Pinned), but check the cassette spec.

  • Rule of Thumb: Always mate Male to Female. Never Male to Male (damage!) or Female to Female (no signal).

For a direct connection between two 40G QSFP+ modules, you need a Type B (Female to Female) cable. This “crosses over” the transmit fibers to the receive fibers.

Testing & Accessory Essentials

Equip your data-centre cabling with the must-have tools and hardware that speed up installation, keep links spotless and make troubleshooting painless.
