H-Connector (OptiTap Compatible) Waterproof CPRI Patch Cord (SC / DLC / MPO) For Outdoor FTTA & 5G

OPT Series waterproof CPRI patch cords for FTTA deployments. Screw-thread coupling with rubber seals (IP67 when mated). Supports SC, DLC and MPO ports, with plug / floating socket / adapter options and multiple cable diameters.

Description

  • Designed for FTTA CPRI links in outdoor base stations and harsh field deployments
  • Screw-thread coupling + multi-layer rubber seals to reduce loosening and ingress risks
  • IP67 when fully mated, pre-terminated assemblies with configurable ports (SC / DLC / MPO)

Product Overview

Connection examples of OPT plug and adapter for SC, DLC and MPO waterproof interfaces

OPT Series connectors combine an indoor-style optical insert with a rugged outdoor sealing structure for FTTA CPRI patching. The connector uses a screw-thread coupling and rubber sealing washers to maintain stable mating in wind, vibration, and frequent maintenance cycles. OPT Series supports SC, DLC and MPO port types, and each type can be built as plug, floating socket (OPTH), or panel adapter for different site architectures. Typical cable compatibility includes 3.0 / 5.0 / 7.0 mm round cable and selected flat cable options, with customization for length, labeling, packaging, and test documentation.

Key Technical Highlights

  • Series: OPT waterproof fiber connector system (threaded coupling)
  • Main applications: FTTA CPRI patch cords (BBU ↔ RRU/RRH); outdoor harsh environments (field / sensing / power utility sites)
  • Port options: SC / DLC / MPO
  • Build options per port: OPT plug / OPTH floating socket / OPT panel adapter
  • Ingress protection: IP67 when fully mated (dust caps recommended for unmated protection)
  • Compatible cable types:
  • Round cable: 3.0 mm / 5.0 mm / 7.0 mm
  • Flat cable: 2×3 mm / 2×2 mm (where applicable)
  • 4.0×8.0 mm cable (where applicable)
  • Fiber options: OS2 singlemode (G657A1 available), OM3/OM4/OM5 on request
  • Jacket options: LSZH / PE / TPU (by environment and routing)
  • Customization: length, fanout/breakout length, labeling/serial tags, packaging, documentation
  • Verification: continuity/visual inspection; IL/RL test report available upon request

Structure & How It Works

OPT Series improves field reliability by combining three engineering elements:
1) Built-in indoor connector insert to keep optical mating consistent (SC/DLC/MPO core)
2) Threaded coupling to resist vibration loosening and reduce accidental disconnect during site work
3) Multi-layer rubber sealing washers to enhance sealing at the interface when fully tightened
4) Socket and adapter variants (floating socket / panel adapter) to support cabinet, wall, and panel mounting
5) Pre-terminated assemblies to reduce on-site splicing and rework risk

Compatibility

OPT Series is used when the equipment/cabinet interface is specified as OPT:

  • Huawei (OPT interface deployments)
  • ZTE (OPT interface deployments)
  • Ericsson (OPT interface specified)
  • Nokia (OPT interface specified)

To prevent mismatch, please provide RRU port photo / part number / interface drawing before production.

Optional Accessory for Field Deployment

For long-length installation and cleaner payout, ABPTEL can supply a portable cable reel stand (payoff rack) to dispense patch cords smoothly and reduce twists during tower or cabinet routing in FTTA projects.

ℹ️ Engineer’s Note: H-Connector / OptiTap Style

This product features the Hardened SC/APC Connector (often referred to as H-Connector).
It is fully compatible with Corning OptiTap® adapters widely used in FTTH Network Interface Devices (NIDs) and Multiport Service Terminals (MST).

📊 Technical Specifications

ParameterPerformance Data
Connector InterfaceSC/APC (Simplex) – Hardened
Insertion Loss≤ 0.3 dB (Typical 0.15 dB)
Return Loss≥ 60 dB (APC Polishing)
Protection RatingIP68 (Dust & Water Tight)
Pulling Force≥ 100 lbs (450 N)

🏡 Applications

FTTH Drop (ISP)

Direct connection from pole/MST to the home NID. The “Plug-and-Play” standard for broadband deployment.

5G Small Cell

Compact connection for street-level antennas requiring SC-based connectivity.

🔧 Cable Selection Guide

  • Flat Drop Cable: The industry standard for aerial self-support. Easy to strip and clamp.

FAQ (Engineering-Oriented)

OPTH floating socket options for OPT waterproof interface with SC, DLC and MPO variants and outline dimensions

1) What is OPT Series used for?
Outdoor FTTA patching where the interface is specified as OPT, commonly for CPRI link routing and harsh field deployments.

2) What is the waterproof rating?
OPT Series targets IP67 when fully mated and tightened. Use dust caps when unmated.

3) What port types are available?
SC / DLC / MPO. Each port supports plug, floating socket (OPTH), and panel adapter variants.

4) What’s the difference between plug, OPTH floating socket, and panel adapter?
Plug is cable-end mating. OPTH floating socket helps alignment and tolerances in site mounting. Panel adapter is for fixed panel/cabinet mounting.

5) Which cable diameters can OPT support?
Commonly 3.0 / 5.0 / 7.0 mm round cables; selected flat cable structures can be supported per project.

6) Can OPT be built into a CPRI patch cord assembly?
Yes. We can build complete patch cords by your required end configuration and length.

7) How do I avoid buying the wrong interface (OPT vs ODVA/FullAXS/NSN/PDLC/IDC)?
Confirm the RRU port type (photo or part number). Different base station platforms use different hardened interfaces.

8) Can you provide test reports?
Yes. Continuity is verified; IL/RL test reports can be provided on request.

9) Can you add labels and serial tags for site management?
Yes. Heat-shrink ID, serial/asset tags and project packaging are supported.

10) Do you support samples for fit check?
Yes. Samples are available for port fit verification before bulk production.
