Description
FTTA System Architecture
In a typical FTTA base-station, the BBU/Baseband links to the RRU/RRH using a CPRI/optical link. The FullAXS waterproof interface protects the tower-top connection point while maintaining a standard Duplex LC SFP optical interface inside the radio.
Signal Path
- BBU / Switch / Router (SFP)
- Outdoor feeder cable run
- FullAXS bulkhead (tower-top)
- RRU/RRH transceiver (Duplex LC SFP)
Why FullAXS Matters
- IP67 sealing for rain, dust, and corrosion exposure
- Bayonet locking for fast, secure mating
- Bulkhead access enables transceiver replacement without opening the radio box
- One-hand installation with tactile/positive mating feedback

Product Overview
ABPTEL FullAXS Waterproof CPRI Patch Cord is engineered for next-generation FTTA (Fiber-to-the-Antenna) deployments where connectors must survive harsh outdoor exposure while maintaining a practical service path at the radio unit. The FullAXS connector system provides a rugged external interface and an industry-standard Duplex LC interface for pairing with common LC duplex SFP transceivers.
Designed for Fast Field Work
- One-hand mating with a robust bayonet locking mechanism for fast, secure installation.
- Positive mechanical feedback lets technicians confirm when the connector is fully mated.
- No cable buckling during or after installation.
- Bulkhead cutout design allows transceiver removal through the bulkhead—often eliminating the need to open the entire remote radio enclosure during replacement.
Built for Outdoor Reliability
The connector design is waterproof, dustproof, and corrosion-resistant, targeting FTTA tower-top conditions. It is suitable for both single-mode and multimode optical transmission and can be supplied with glass-filled polymer or metal die-cast bulkhead options depending on project requirements.
Ordering Options (Typical)

🤔 Engineer’s Choice: LSZH or TPU?
Choosing the wrong jacket material can lead to cracking in extreme weather.
- LSZH (Black): Standard choice. UV resistant, flame retardant. Best for general outdoor use (-20°C to +70°C).
- TPU (Armored): Highly Recommended for harsh environments. Extremely flexible, resistant to chemicals, abrasion, and extreme cold (-40°C). Ideal for Nordic/Desert regions.

Key Benefits
- IP67 environmental protection for tower-top CPRI links (dust, rain, corrosion).
- Bayonet lock + one-hand mating improves installation speed and reduces tower time.
- Positive mating feedback reduces “half-mated” faults.
- Bulkhead access design supports transceiver service without opening the full RRH enclosure (workflow advantage in bad weather).
- 150N retention + verified vibration/shock references for stable performance on towers.

Quick FAQ
Q1: Is this assembly compatible with standard duplex LC SFP transceivers?

Q2: Can technicians replace the transceiver without opening the full radio box?
The design supports bulkhead access and allows transceiver removal through the bulkhead cutout in typical FTTA workflows.
Q3: What environmental rating does it support?
The connector system is designed for outdoor use and specified to IP67 protection class/rating.
Q4: What is the operating temperature range?
Specified -40°C to +85°C.
Q5: What is the mechanical retention level?
Specified 150N cable retention / pull force.
🔧 Engineer’s FAQ: How to Choose?
I have Ericsson RRUs, which connector do I need?
Please select the FullAXS option from the dropdown menu above. It is fully compatible with Ericsson Radio Systems (ERS). My equipment is Huawei 5G AAU, which one fits?
Huawei equipment typically uses the PDLC (Outdoor DLC) connector. Select PDLC in the options. Do I need LSZH or TPU jacket?
Standard black LSZH is suitable for most climates. However, if your installation is in an extremely cold region (Russia, Canada) or harsh desert, please contact us to request TPU Armored cable for maximum durability.
